MotoGP: Casey Stoner Angry at Sete Gibernau About Being Held up During Assen Qualifying
Casey Stoner’s qualifying session for the Dutch TT at Assen ended with the Australian visibly fuming after an unseen incident on track.
The Ducati star, who will start Saturday’s seventh round from fourth on the grid and equal on points Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, later explained that he had been dangerously held up by riders waiting for a tow, particularly fellow Ducati pilot Sete Gibernau.
“Unfortunately a couple of riders got in my way, waiting for a tow in a dangerous and fast part of the track, which obviously cost me time but could have cost me a whole lot more if I had crashed,” he said.
“It is a frustrating situation which seems to be happening more and more in MotoGP and it is about time something was done to stop it,” Stoner declared.
