SORRY SIGHT: Australian Casey Stoner gets a ride back to the garage after crashing during the Indianapolis MotoGP. Source: AP CASEY Stoner’s long wait for a MotoGP victory will have to continue after he crashed out at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Stoner, who had claimed five consecutive podium finishes going into this race, crashed out with barely a quarter of the 28-lap race completed as Spain’s Dani Pedrosa rode to his third victory of the season. The Australian has now gone almost 11 months without a win in Moto GP and was disappointed by how his weekend had ended up after a bright start in Friday’s practice sessions.”I am very disappointed – it was a nothing crash but obviously it was enough to leave me out of the race,” Stoner said.”I know a lot of people have had front end crashes but apparently here at Indianapolis we have gone back to the situation we were in at the start of the season and we’ve struggled to find front-end feel in the corners. “It is a real shame because we had good pace and I think we could have been on the podium.”Pedrosa seized the lead from pole-sitter Ben Spies in the seventh lap, going on to cover the 28 laps on his Honda in 47 minutes and 31.615 seconds while American Spies finished second in 47:35.190.Pedrosa said he was pleased with his ride and the way he handled the hot temperatures on Sunday.”It was very, very warm out there.
